What is Life Skills?
Care packages for those with less complex needs
Our EHS Life Skills Service offers a holistic approach to care for individuals with less complex needs. This service is designed to empower participants by enhancing their quality of life through the provision and/or development of essential skills and fostering a greater degree of self-reliance and community integration. The EHS Life Skills Service encompasses a wide array of support areas tailored to each individual's needs. These include cultivating financial literacy to manage personal resources effectively, learning behavioural management techniques for better social interaction and improving overall health and wellness. We also provide training in vocational skills aimed at job placement, enhancing employment prospects and workplace adaptability.

Our service extends to practical day-to-day support as well, such as transportation for daily errands, housekeeping and meal preparation to encourage nutritional awareness and independence in daily living. Additionally, we offer programs focused on the use of technology and digital tools to keep participants connected and informed in today’s digital world. Recreational activities are an integral part of our service, providing opportunities for leisure and social engagement, which are vital for a balanced life. Each aspect of our service is delivered with the aim of rejuvenating independence and facilitating a fulfilling and integrated community life for all our clients.

How it works
Outlines the stages of arranging your life skills. This is general guide and the actual process may vary based on individual factors.
EHS is committed to empowering our EHS Life Skills clients with as much independence as possible, allowing them to live their life of choice. While The Reach Standards are primarily developed for our Supported Living services, we have integrated these principles into our Life Skills services. The Reach Standards, a set of nine voluntary standards crafted by Paradigm, guide us in supporting individuals to live the life they choose, with the same choices, rights, and responsibilities as other citizens.

Adopting these standards in our Life Skills services ensures that we maintain a consistent level of quality support across all our offerings. This approach not only aligns with recommendations from health and social care regulators but is also recognised as the gold standard across the UK. By incorporating The Reach Standards into our practices, we ensure there is ongoing dialogue with our clients, and these discussions are recorded in our central records system. This enables us to monitor and review progress, ensuring our services continually meet the high standards our clients deserve.
