About You:
You are the first line of support for patients and their families, providing crucial services within a range of NHS hospital or community settings under the guidance of various healthcare professionals. The nature of your role will vary depending on the area of work. Your time spent working as a healthcare assistant can be an ideal stepping stone if you are considering different careers in the healthcare industry as there are often opportunities for training and advancement. Gaining first-hand experience working with patients will also always look great on your CV if you’re thinking of applying for a medical qualification such as becoming a nurse or midwife.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, oral care and grooming
• Assist with toileting and continence management
• Providing companionship and emotional support to clients
• Assisting with meal preparation and medication reminders
• Aid in nutritional intake as per care plans
• Supporting clients with mobility and everyday activities
• Collaborate with nursing staff in various procedures and tasks
• Contribute to pressure sore prevention and management
• Maintaining accurate and detailed care records

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 months of care experience in the UK from within the past 3 years
• Valid Moving and Handling certificate and personal care experience
• A Basic Care Certificate – qualification can also be gained through EHS Academy
• The right to work in the UK
• A caring, compassionate and respectful nature
• Good organisational and communication skills
• Responsible and reliable character
• A full UK driving licence and reliable access to a personal vehicle is essential
• A commitment to providing high-quality care
• Minimum 18 years old
